Our review article, “Radar-Based Monitoring for Non-Contact Detection of Nocturnal Hypoglycemia in Diabetes,” has been published in the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics. The study reviews 78 publications on radar-based monitoring of sleep physiology, including respiration, heart rate, heart rate variability, movement, posture, and sleep staging. Across studies, radar shows high accuracy for key vital signs and consistent performance in sleep monitoring tasks. The review positions radar as a promising contactless modality for nocturnal monitoring, particularly where wearable devices are not feasible. At the same time, it highlights the need for studies combining radar measurements with glucose data to establish performance for hypoglycemia detection.
