Biography
Camilo Mendez Schneider is currently a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Bern, where he is working in the samlab on a project to develop an AI-based hypoglycemia detection system using radar signals. Prior to this, Camilo was a scientific collaborator at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, where he served as the project lead on several Innosuisse-funded projects and was responsible for AI implementations. He has expertise in a variety of programming languages and frameworks, including Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
Camilo holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bern, where he studied signal and image processing, machine learning, computer vision, and medical statistics. He also holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Artificial Intelligence from the Bern University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his education, Camilo has professional experience as a mechanical engineer and as an industrial designer.
